Symmons Plains Raceway is a permanent road course circuit in Australia, located about 30 Km south of Launceston, Tasmania. The track is Tasmania’s premier motorsport facility, and has been for the past forty years or so. The track layout means that it is quite a fast circuit, with two long straight, and just 7 corners. In 2005, the track received a major upgrade, which included some modifications to the layout of the track, and moving the start/finish line back to a more conventional location opposite the pits. The track has a very tight hairpin at the end of the long straight, meaning it is a good overtaking opportunity.
