The Marina Bay Street circuit in Singapore held the first ever night race in Formula 1. Based around the streets, the circuit is unique in more ways than one, with a tunnel going under one of the grandstands. Similar to the Monaco and Valencia circuits, the track is based around the harbour, making it another glamorous event. Originally the track was designed by Hermann Tilke, but this design was modified before completion. Looking at the track, a lot of the drivers criticise it as being excessively bumpy, and some parts of the circuit have been resurfaced. It’s still the only track to host a Formula 1 night race, the floodlights and extremely bright on track for the drivers, but off the track parts of it retain the darkness. If you are fortunate enough to go, most seats give a good view of the track, although turns 1, 2 and 3 offer some of the best at the track.
