The Sentul International Circuit is the largest Motorsport facility in Indonesia, located near Bogor. Originally designed to host a round of the Formula 1 World Championship, they didn’t succeed in bringing the sport to the region. Opening in 1993, the president of Indonesia attended the launch with a serious bid for the F1. They didn’t end up succeeding because the track was deemed too tight, so they’ve since held Formula 3, Porsche Cup and in the past A1GP. The venue has reasonably good facilities, although in recent years it hasn’t been looked after as well as it could have been. They’ve got 50 pit garages and two covered grandstands situated around the 3.96KM track. As well as the main track a Kart track and Motocross track can be found, with International Kart races taking place on the track. Recently the future of the track has become slightly uncertain, it’s a prime location for housing.
