The Sachsenring in Germany is primarily a motorbike circuit and hosts the German round of the Moto GP calender. Originally the circuit was a street circuit, which used a course nearly 9KM long, however in 1996 the modern day purpose built circuit was born. The circuit has seen increased spectator numbers year on year, and the event is one of the biggest sporting events in East Germany. The circuit received several modifications after the rebuild, to make sure that it was up to FIM standard.
