Circuit de Nevers Magny Cours is one of the top race facilities in France, and has been around since the 1960′s. The track was originally designed for a Racing School by Jean Bernigaud. The Racing school proved very successful over the years, and helped nurture the talent of several F1 drivers. Unfortunately in the 1980′s the track fell into a state of disrepair, but it was bought, and in the early 90′s was used as a test track for Ligier. This was the start of the F1 circus visiting the circuit, which carried on until 2008. Drivers never took a great liking to the circuit, and it wasn’t very good for overtaking which didn’t help! Situated around 250KM from Paris, it is in the middle of nowhere and has never proved to be a brilliant venue, even though facilities are good.
