Lydd Kart track, formerly known as Herons Park Kart Club, was constructed on a peninsula of the South East English coastline, some 20km away from the busy harbour town of Folkstone. It was opened in late 1993 as a 550m course adjacent to the Lydd Watersports Centre but has since been extended to its current 1240m length. The circuit has changed hands several times but is now owned by former karters who are looking to re-invest profits to put it back on the map as one of the best UK kart tracks. Historically the circuit has hosted Super 1 Championship events and it can be seen why due to its inherent high speed nature which creates plenty of overtaking.
