Located a few miles from Las Vegas, the circuit sits in what feels like a desert. Located in a 1200 acre site, it’s home to various different motorsport tracks (Dirt course, and a drag strip) and businesses. Opened in 1996, the venue is already classed as a firm favourite for the season, and is one of the best tracks to get up close to the drivers. In 2006 it was decided that some modifications would be made, bringing the pit lane closer to the fans and building a new media centre. One thing to bear in mind, at full capacity there will be 142,000 people, so it can get a little crowded! In 2011 the track hosted the biggest Indycar race of the year, with $5 Million up for grabs. The race ended in tragedy though, with Dan Wheldon passing away in a horrific crash early on in the race.
