Kirkiston Race track is a medium sized race track located in Nortern Ireland. Opening in 1953, the track is home to the 500 Motor Racing Club. Towards the end of the 1970s a chicane was added just before the midway point of the back straight, which has been modified again since then. Essentially though, the lap remains as it was when opening in 1953. Throughout the year it’s used mainly for track days and smaller racing series. Facilities at the track are good for the size, with a recently refurbished club house, and ample parking facilities. Looking at the layout, its quite a fast track, which two long straights and a very fast turn one. Viewing at the track is good for spectators, all of the banks around the track are banked which gives a wider viewing area.
