Fuji Speedway is a race circuit located at the foot of Mount Fiji, Japan. Built in the early 1960′s the circuit has held several Formula 1 events since then, and has become one of the top circuits in Japan, along with Suzuka. Initially the track was supposed to be a Nascar circuit, however after funding ran out, it was turned into a road course. Today the circuit is owned by Toyota, whom have owned it since 2000. Within 3 years the track closed down, to be redesigned and built by renowned circuit designer Hermann Tilke. It re opened in 2005, and in 2007 and 2008 it hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Japan. One of the problems with the circuit is that it is in the middle of nowhere, making it quite difficult to get to!
