The Honda Indy Edmonton is a round of the IndyCar Series, which is located on a temporary track which is set up at the city airport, near downtown Edmonton. 2005 saw the first event held on the temporary circuit, and it saw record numbers of fans (topping 200,000) which at the time was the most fans to ever attend a race in Canada. Looking at the circuit, it is just over 3KM long, with 14 corners. Built solely on the airport runways and taxiways, the surface is not as grippy as a regular race track, and is much closer to a street circuit than a permanent facility.
