The Circuito Del Sele is a small permanent race track, located in Italy. Opening in 1985, it was initially used only for testing. In 1987 the first race meeting took place which proved very popular, and from then on the track underwent a number of evolutions. In the early 1990′s the Italian Kart Championship was held here, which improved the circuit's national status. In 1996 the first circuit improvements took place with the length being increased to 1,200m. It has since been extended further to 1,500m, meaning it can be used for small cars and motorcycles as well as Karts, with two different layouts available. The organisers have focussed on the circuit being used for Karts, and the paddock is much bigger than most other similar circuits. There are plans to introduce lighting to the track so that races can take place in the evening and into the night which will mean an increase in operational hours and track time for drivers.
