Circuit of the Americas is a brand new race track located near Austin, Texas – it’s going to be host to a round of the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship. It will be the first time Formula 1 has returned to America since they left Indianapolis, and a huge amount of money has been invested in the track. It’s a track which will contain a lot of undulation (133 feet to be exact!) and looks like it could be one of the best tracks on the Formula 1 calendar. It’s 3.4 Miles long and the track combines modern facilities and features with details reminiscent of traditional races from the 1960’s. They’ve taken the best features from tracks around the globe and attempted to pull it all together. As well as the track they’ve looked at the success of the Hockenheim grandstands and again are attempting to replicate it, to give fans an incredible track side experience.
