Calder Park Raceway is a permanent circuit in Melbourne, Victoria. The facility has several different uses, including a road course, a drag strip, and an oval which can be used for stock cars. Originally, it existed as a dirt circuit, however after demand grew for a tarmac track, it was created in 1962. In 1987 the “Thunderdome” took shape, after years of racing on the dirt oval, tarmac replaced it and has stood next to the track ever since. Over the years a wide range of event have taken place, including Auscar, WTCC and more recently drifting. As stated by one of our members, the track does not hold a licence to host events anymore, so it is only used occasionally.
