Barbagallo Raceway (Originally known as Wanneroo Park )is a short circuit, located north of Perth, Australia. The first race meeting took place in 1969, in the form of a 6 hour endurance race. This did not prove that popular, an after interested disappeared it was removed from the calender. In 1979 the Australian Grand Prix took place at the circuit, which coincided with a relaunch of the track, new pit buildings and paddock area. The next major update took place in 1992, when a section was added meaning a short version of the track could be used. The circuit always had a reputation of being an abrasive surface meaning tyres would wear out very quickly, however resurfacing took place in 2004.
