Iowa Speedway is a 7/8th mile oval, located roughly 30 miles east of Des Moines. Being one of the smallest ovals in the USA, the crowd capacity is quite small at around 30,000. Opening in 2006, it is one of the newer circuits, and does not have a huge amount of history behind it, but the state of the art venue makes up for that with the superb facilities, and on track action. If you are fortunate enough to own an RV, watching on the dedicated RV stretch on the back straight is must, if you can get to the circuit early enough to get a space! As well as the tri oval, the track also has a road course, which again is quite short at 1.3 miles with 9 corners.
